Privacy Policy

Overview

CaddieSight is an AI-powered digital caddie operated by EightFive Technology (“CaddieSight,” “we,” “us”). We help golfers read a lie, get club, stance, and swing advice, and keep track of their gear. This policy applies to our website, mobile apps, and the CaddieSight API.

Data we collect

We collect only what we need to give you good caddie advice:

• Account & profile. When you sign in through Microsoft Entra External ID using a social account (Google, Facebook, Apple) or email, we receive your name, email address, and a unique identifier. You may add a profile photo and gear details.
• Shot photos & context. Photos of your ball's lie that you capture or upload, along with the distance, lie notes, and any shot context you provide.
• Swing & performance data. Launch-monitor data you import (for example, CSV exports) and the club averages we calculate from it.
• Course data. Courses and holes you search for or save, sourced from third-party golf course catalogs.
• Usage & device data. Basic technical information such as app version, device type, and diagnostic logs used to keep the service reliable and secure.

Voice readout stays on your device. When CaddieSight reads a recommendation aloud, it uses your device's built-in speech synthesis. We do not record your voice or send audio to our servers.

How we use your data

• Analyze your ball's lie and generate club, stance, and swing recommendations.
• Personalize advice using your imported swing averages and saved gear.
• Provide, maintain, and improve the app and its AI models.
• Respond to support requests and communicate about the service.
• Protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats.

AI processing

To produce a recommendation, your shot photo and context are processed by AI models. This may include a lie-analysis step (classifying the surface, slope, and difficulty of your lie) and a stance-recommendation step (suggesting club, stance, grip, and swing advice). We use this data to generate your result and to improve accuracy over time. We do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.

How we share data

We share data only in limited circumstances:

• Service providers. Cloud hosting, storage, identity, email, and AI processing partners who process data on our behalf under contract.
• Identity providers. The social or email provider you choose for sign-in, solely to authenticate you.
• Legal & safety. When required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and service.
• Business transfers. As part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where required.

We never sell your personal information.

Storage & security

Structured data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database, and image and avatar files are stored in cloud blob storage. We protect data in transit with encryption (HTTPS/TLS) and apply access controls, managed identities, and secret management to safeguard our systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You can delete individual shots and their photos, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data. We may retain limited information as required for legal, security, or record-keeping purposes.

Your rights & choices

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
• Export your data where applicable.
• Withdraw consent or object to certain processing.
• Delete your account at any time.

Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK or California), you may have additional rights. To exercise any of these, email privacy@caddiesight.com.

Children's privacy

CaddieSight is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
